I’m way late... Mark felt the leading from God that we needed to have Unity Sunday. So, Sunday morning we went to Havana Assembly of God. It was a wonderful service. The presence of Lord was so strong. You see there is no denomination in Heaven. God doesn’t see us a Baptist or Assembly of God. He sees us a His children, all of us. I see both churches making a difference in our community. Imagine how God can show out if we join together in evangelizing to the lost, praying for the sick, and just showing God’s Grace as one body. I’m excited to see the move of God that is coming to our community. Thank You, Thomas, Sarah, & the rest of the congregation who so graciously welcomed us into your church and loved on us. Just a few reminders: Tomorrow is Unity Sunday. We will go directly to Sunday school @ 9:45. We will dismiss @ 10:35 to go over and worship at Havana Assembly of God. We will have regular scheduled services at at HFB Sunday night. Next Sunday afternoon is our annual picnic on the Mountain. There is a sign up sheet in the hallway. Make plans to attend.

"You are not an accident. Your birth was no mistake or mishap, and your life is no fluke of nature. Long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in the mind of God. Most amazing, God decided how you would be born. Regardless of the circumstances of your birth or who your parents are, God had a plan in creating you. It doesn’t matter whether your parents are good, bad, or indifferent. God knew that those two Individuals possessed exactly the right genetic makeup to create the custom “you” he had in mind. They had the DNA God wanted to make you. God never does anything accidentally, and he never makes mistakes. He has a reason for everything He creates. God was thinking of you before he made the world. THIS IS HOW MUCH GOD LOVES YOU AND VALUES YOU.”
Last night I got on our bathroom scale and found that I was significantly heavier than I had been just days before. After almost going into a panic, I stepped off to realize the scale had been knocked out of calibration. Sometimes events in our lives and choices that we make can knock our mind and emotions out of calibration (they are no longer centered.) When that happens, the way that we see everything becomes skewed because of it, and we have trouble seeing the truth. The only fix is to recalibrate the scale...to make a choice to bring yourself back to the center of God's truth. If you find that nothing in your life seems right, and that everything is a struggle, perhaps it's time to recalibrate. Perhaps it's time to put everything back to zero and begin again. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light.
God is not calling us to be like anyone but HIM ! I break the strongholds of comparison and competition off of your life ! Remember they are not your yardstick ... Jesus Is ... That why He IS.. King of Kings and Lord or Lords.... HE'S A RULER !
Here are the four keys to making a church. 1) BE PRESENT-don’t miss- especially over two weeks consecutively. Now obviously I know the demands of work or physical Illness can make it hard. But over the last few years I’ve learned that Church is a moving train. It’s easy to leave people. Church is like practice for a sports team. When you’re not at practice you lose the chemistry. People start thinking on different pages. Sure you’re still part of the team, but the team has had to fill the gaps. 2) DO LIFE-take a step towards people. Invite and invest in relationship. In our society people are always moving. This is the world we live in. Making your church a home means making a decision to serve together, laugh, and make time. As adults don’t think you will have a best friend in 4 meetings. Play the long game. Be intentional and watch what happens. 3) STAY GENEROUS- our heart follows our money. When you’re giving you’re caring. Is it your church or their church. Generosity is huge part of connection. 4) WELCOME OTHERS- go to help someone else connect. The church is like the waves that hit the seashore. Have you ever watched waves as your on the beach. They just keep coming. Here’s the deal... people will come! Be ready! It’s basic sowing and reaping. Sow love reap a friend. Sow hurt reap pain. Sow gossip reap loneliness. Sow kindness reap favor.
The ladies will meet at 5:30 p.m. tonight at the church and go to The Grapevine in Paris for the quarterly outing.
